This Terms and Conditions page explains how I, Metin METE, set the rules for accessing and using my website (the “Website”), including when you browse plugin pages, download self-hosted plugin files, use features like Collections/Favorites, submit feedback, or contact me. By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Website.

1) Who I Am

2) About the Site

metinmete.dev provides a directory and informational pages about WordPress plugins and related resources. The Site also provides self-hosted plugin downloads (e.g., ZIP packages) and may include descriptions, changelogs, compatibility notes, documentation, and other materials.

The Site may allow you to save items to personal lists such as “Collections” or “Favorites.”

3) Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4) Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, servers, or systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services (including excessive automated requests, abusive scraping, or denial-of-service attempts).

5) Plugin Downloads, Installation, and Risk (Self-Hosted Downloads)

Plugin files offered through the Site are hosted and distributed by us directly. Installing plugins can affect your website, data, performance, and security.

By downloading or installing any plugin from the Site, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for testing plugins in a safe environment (e.g., staging) before using them in production.
  • You are responsible for maintaining backups and security measures for your WordPress installation.
  • You are responsible for ensuring compatibility with your WordPress version, PHP version, theme, and other plugins.
  • The plugin(s) may contain bugs or vulnerabilities and may cause data loss, downtime, or security issues.

We may publish version notes and compatibility information, but we do not guarantee that any plugin will work in your environment or meet your expectations.

6) Updates and Availability of Downloads

We may update, replace, or remove plugin files and content at any time. We do not guarantee that any specific version will remain available indefinitely.

7) Licenses and Open-Source Components

Plugins and code distributed through the Site may be released under open-source or other licenses. Each plugin’s license terms govern your use of that plugin. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with those license terms.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the Site’s original content (text, branding, layout, and the compilation/curation of listings) is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

The Site may link to third-party websites (e.g., WordPress.org, GitHub, external documentation) or reference third-party products and services.

We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, security, availability, or practices. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and policies.

9) Collections / Favorites (Local Storage)

Some features (such as Collections or Favorites) may store data locally in your browser (e.g., via local storage/cookies) to improve user experience.

  • If you clear browser data or use a different device/browser, your collections may be lost and cannot be recovered.
  • We do not guarantee persistence, synchronization, or recovery of locally stored data.

10) User Submissions (If Offered)

If the Site allows you to submit content (such as plugin suggestions, feedback, or messages), you agree that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to submit that content.
  • Your submission does not infringe third-party rights or violate laws.
  • You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute your submission solely for operating, improving, and promoting the Services.

We may remove submissions at our discretion.

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email hello@metinmete.dev with:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
  • The exact URL(s) on the Site where the material appears
  • Your contact information
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized
  • A statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights owner or authorized to act on their behalf

We will review and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the material.

12) Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and availability.

We do not warrant that:

  • the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free,
  • any plugin or file will be compatible with your system,
  • any information on the Site is complete, accurate, or up to date.

13) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Services, including plugin downloads and installations.

If liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total liability for any claims arising out of or related to the Services will be limited to ₺1,500 (one thousand five hundred Turkish Lira).

14) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • your use of the Services,
  • your violation of these Terms,
  • your violation of any rights of a third party,
  • your installation, use, or distribution of plugins obtained through the Site.

15) Termination and Access Restrictions

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if necessary to protect the Site, users, or third parties.

You may stop using the Services at any time.

16) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Site and update the “Effective date.” Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

18) Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict of law principles.
